Leopards Dominate Hoover 34 To 13 On “Electric Night” In The Ville

There was one word that described Thursday, September 3, 2009 in the city of Louisville.  That word was “ELECTRIC”.  The Atmosphere at Louisville Stadium which included the Fabulous Playing Field groomed by Opening Day Landscape, endless hours of work from TD Club and Booster Club members, the Community support shown by the 9,000 Faithful Fans from both sides,  the Checkerboard Banners along the End Zones, and Fox Sports Net Ohio being in The VILLE, was truly a sight to Behold!  This all culminated in a Tremendous Effort and Performance from our Beloved Leps in a 34 to 13 Rout over Cross-Town Rival North Canton Hoover.

It is kind of hard to believe, but the First Quarter was scoreless as Coach Paul Farrah’s troops were feeling out the 2008 Division I State Semi-Finalists.  The Vikings wanted the ball to start the game and The Leopard Defense set the Tempo from the opening snap as our boys bottled up the Reigning Mr. Football.  Midway through the First Quarter, our Leps offense started to march.  With precise passing from our Mr. Football ----- #2 Bobby Swigert, the “O” started clicking.  With two keys catches from #21 Jared Strasser and on  a huge third down as the Quarter was ending, #2 Swigert found #5 Joe Stoffer for 20 Yards.  Soon after the start of the second quarter, Offensive Coordinator John DeMarco called the perfect play as #2 Swigert found #21 Strasser in the seam for the first score of the night.  #21 Strasser showed great concentration on the 13 Yard TD Pass.  Well Done Strass!  #87 Jaron Lohmeyer nailed the PAT out of the hold of #13 Toby Minster and the snap of Center and Captain #50 Bobby Gothot(Keep It Up Coach Nicholas!).  On the ensuing kickoff, lightning struck as #33 Matt Dunnerstick and #7 Lucas Poyser clawed and scrapped as #33 Dunnerstick made a huge Fumble Recovery in Hoover Territory.  After a key completion to #25 Cody Stocker, #2 Bobby Swigert made a fabulous ball fake on a bubble and found #22 Lee Ferguson crossing the field for a 16 Yard TD Pitch and Catch to put our Leopards up 13 to 0 early in the Second Quarter.

To think North Canton Hoover was going to go away quietly was completely Foolish.  The 2008 Federal League Champ Vikings got a Huge Return on the next Kickoff placing Hoover deep in Louisville Territory.  The Next Series of Events is What Louisville Football Is All About!  As I lead into the Game Changing portion of our Victory, I have to start by absolutely commending Defensive Coordinator Nick Lewis and our Freakin’ Defense!!! #55 Joe Poyser was an Absolute “MANCHILD” the entire evening disrupting play after play and spending his evening in the Hoover backfield with 3 Sacks and several other hurries.  #24 Hunter Potts, the True Leader of this defensive unit, was Dominate in the middle with several Slobber Knocking Hits, which included a Big Sack.  #51 Joe Henderson and #49 Mat Wharmby, two members of the Defense that both suffered potential career ending injuries last year, came to play with a True Tenacious approach every play.  Super Sophomore #16 Chad Neff had his coming out party coming off the edge and looked extremely polished for a First Year Varsity Player.  #16 Neff had a Huge Sack for our Mighty Leps!  Another Super Sophomore #7 Lucas Poyser gave The Leps some quality snaps at DE!  Then let’s not forget our two Quick Tackles, #50 Bobby Gothot and #36 Billy Kennedy who harassed the Hoover Line and Ball Carriers all night!  #9 Michael Schooley who contributes on both sides of the ball has filled in great at the Outside Linebacker position.  Defensive Line Coach Mike “Horse” Norris, Defensive End Coach Adam Burris, and Linebacker Coach Troy Davis truly had this front Eight ready to Freakin’ Play.  Now, back to Hoover inside the Leps 10 yard line –First and Goal!  Saying earlier, What Is Louisville Football  All About!  It Is All About Captain and Outside Linebacker #34 Jake Adkins!  #34 Adkins made two of the Biggest Plays of the evening that resulted in the Biggest Momentum Swing I have ever seen.  With NC Knocking on the door, #34 Adkins stuffed Hoover with a Great Hit and Wrap on the right side of the Leps Defense.  Then moments later on a Fourth and Three,  it was not difficult to figure out what was coming—Mr. Football!  #34 Jake Adkins came up and filled between two Blockers and Stuffed Hoover to STOP the Scoring Threat!!!  Leps Ball!!!—Oh Yah!

At this point from our own Three what was Next!  What was Next is Offensive Line Coach Dan Radalia and his Big Boys Going To Work!  Five Leopard Seniors make up The “O”  Line  which includes Left Tackle #73 Joe Neff(D--I!), Left Guard #78 Tyler “T-RAD” Radalia, Center #50 Bobby Got!Hot!, Right Guard #59 Dan “Big Mac” McDonald, and Right Tackle #65 Dan “DD” Davis.  Backed Up at our own three, this unit provided protection for Our Mr. Football #2 Bobby Swigert who found his Smallest(Genetics) and Favorite(My Favorite Too—Nepotism) Target #5 Joe Stoffer along the right sideline for a 40 Yard BOMB!!!(Get It ----Bomb –Farrah!). This set-up a couple plays later FIVE!!!!!  Making a Fabulous Diving Catch where Stoffer completely laid out for the Pigskin and Hauled It In!  As Two Of My Favorites-----Paul and Tammy Desiato stated, FIVE!!!!! Was in Game Mode!  Twoooooooooo was not done!  #2 Swigert found #25 Cody Stocker on a great adjustment for the ball as #25 Stocker Pulled In a 28 Yard TD Pass to Up The Score to 19 to 0 LEPS!!!  This Series of events proved to Dig the Hole that Hoover would be not able to Climb out of for 48 Minutes.  After a Hoover Score on a Fourth and 15 play with 2:21 left in the Half, #2 Bobby Swigert went to work again!!!!!  After a couple nice runs by Running Back #32 Preston Massey, #2 Swigert went Deep Down the middle, and as the ball was tipped by the NC Safety, #15 Jeremy White showed Unbelievable Concentration to come down with the ball in the End Zone with 27 Seconds left in the Half.  #2 Swigert connected with #5 Stoffer for the 2 Pt. Conversion for a Halftime Score of -------------------------------------------Louisville 27 North Canton Hoover 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
